What used to be the future of PEEM and LEEM microscopes has now become reality. A tetrode mirror can be installed on most Elmitec microscopes providing higher lateral resolution and transmission. Elmitec has been the first company to successfully implement aberration-correction in a LEEM and has demonstrated a lateral resolution of 1.9 nm in LEEM.
